Game 2 of the WNBA Finals tips off tonight, with the Las Vegas Aces up 1-0. LV is looking to become the first team to go back-to-back since 2001, while the Liberty are just trying to steal one before heading back to New York to play in front of a sold out crowd. WNBA Finals

The WNBA Finals is here, featuring two teams pretty much everyone expected to face off for this year’s title. The Aces and Liberty combined to lose 14 regular season games this season, while the third place Sun finished with 13 losses of their own. The off season addition of Breanna Stewart has had immediate results, as Stewie became the first MVP in Liberty history 🏆

This is as about as star studded a finals as possible, with three of the last four MVPs since 2018 taking the court. A’ja Wilson brought home the award in 2020 and 2022, and the other Liberty addition - Jonquel Jones - won in 2021 as a member of the Connecticut Sun. The result? The most watched WNBA Finals Game 1 since 2000 📺

The Liberty won Game 1 pretty easily on Sunday, with their core four of A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Grey, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young combining for 89 points, more than the entire Liberty team. Outside of Stewie’s 21 points, the lone bright spot for New York was easily backup PG Marine Johannes hitting some ridiculous shots that even had LeBron tweeting 👀

The Aces, who topped the Sun in last year’s Finals, are heavy favorites (-440) to become just the third franchise in the WNBA’s 26-year career to win back-to-back titles, and the first since the Sparks in 2001-’02. In addition, the first WNBA Finals games in Barclays Center’s history is outselling any single WNBA game ever at over $200 per ticket on the secondary market 👏

While “super-teams” might be bad for the NBA, it looks like it’s something the WNBA needs. Viewership is up, ticket prices are rising, and we should assume sponsorship dollars will follow. Great news for the sport, and hopefully the Liberty avoid a sweep and force at Game 4 at Barclays 🤝

  • LV Aces 3-0: +175

  • LV Aces 3-1: +280

  • LV Aces 3-2: +300

Trivia Question: How many players on the Aces and Liberty made the All-Star game this season?

For My Parlay Gurus

I think the Aces will definitely win this series, but as a New Yorker I like the Liberty to grab one win in front of a huge home crowd. Look for a bounce back game from Sabrina Ionescu and another dominant performance from Stewie in a Game 2 shoutout tonight at 9PM EST on ESPN 👇

  • Liberty +5.5 vs. Aces: -114

  • Sabrina Ionescu Over 16.5 Points: +106

$100 on this bet would win you $287 — if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win 😉
