World Cup Update
It’s been nearly eight years since the U.S. Men’s National Team last took the pitch in a World Cup match, but it looks like that excruciating wait is nearly over 🤞
After Sunday’s 5-1 win over Panama, the U.S. is on the cusp of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The team is set to face off against Costa Rica tonight, and as long as they avoid a losing margin of six goals, their spot will be secured ahead of Friday’s draw
While the USA has reached the doorstep of its World Cup return, surprising teams and big names around the globe have come up just short. After a stunning upset at the hands of North Macedonia, Italy, the winner of last year’s Euro 2020, will miss their second consecutive World Cup tournament 😳
In a controversial PK shootout (peep the lasers on his face) against Senegal yesterday, Mo Salah’s shot sailed over the crossbar, as his Egyptian team was officially knocked out
Norway, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, and the Ivory Coast are just a few other World Cup staples whose stars won’t be able to shine on soccer’s biggest stage this year, with more eliminations still to come. But barring an unforeseen disaster today, fortunately the USMNT won’t be on that list again 🙌
Trivia question: The USMNT's last World Cup action came back in 2014, when they were knocked out in the Round of 16. Which country sent them home? (answer below)

USA vs. Costa Rica Preview
Even with a World Cup spot all but locked up, the U.S. undoubtedly wants to end their CONCACAF qualifying run on a high note. Here’s how the lines are looking ahead of the national team’s showdown with Costa Rica 👇
USA vs. Costa Rica Betting Preview (subject to change)
Moneyline: USA +115 (bet $100 to win $115), Costa Rica +245 (bet $100 to win $245), Draw +215
Over/Under: 1.5 Total Goals
Game time: 9PM EST
The USMNT will look to keep the good vibes going, but it will be tough for their encore to match Sunday’s performance against Panama
The U.S. got off to a hot start in the 5-1 beatdown and never looked back, netting three goals in the first 30 minutes of play
Chelsea winger and American captain, Christian Pulisic, notched his first ever USMNT hat trick in the win, featuring a pair of first half PKs and some filthy footwork in the box 😵💫
A holdover from the 2018 national team, but still just 23 years old, the young star is facing insane pressure as a leader for the talented, but inexperienced U.S. squad
Potentially feeling the weight of the expectations, Pulisic’s play has been inconsistent for the national team of late. Prior to Sunday’s match, he had two goals and no assists through eight qualifiers
The captain's breakout performance couldn't have come at a better time, but can he and the rest of the team keep the momentum going against a tough rival today?
Even with a six-goal loss being incredibly unlikely, this is still an important statement match for the USMNT. If they can build off perhaps the best performance of the Gregg Berhalter era, international expectations could reach the next level 😤

2022 World Cup Contenders
Qualifying for the World Cup is certainly a step in the right direction, but does the USMNT actually have a shot at competing for the title? We’re still over half a year away from the first Group Stage match, but unabashed excitement and confidence for our sports teams is just part of being an American 🤷🏻♂️. So, let’s take a look at how we stack up against the top contenders 👇
Brazil: +500
France: +600
England: +700
Spain: +700
Germany: +900
Argentina: +1000
10 other countries
USA: +12500
Hopes of a deep American run this year may be a bit optimistic. But with an influx of young talent competing in the top leagues around the world, there's a lot to be excited about with the future of the USMNT 📈
The good news? At least we don't have to worry about Italy (previously +1100) anymore 😅

For My Parlay Gurus
The U.S. has won four straight international matches against Costa Rica, and while a victory isn't a necessity today, I still think they make it five in a row for good measure. I'm going with the USMNT to come out on top, with Pulisic finding the back of the net once again. Take a look 👇
USMNT ML: +115
Christian Pulisic Over 0.5 Goals: +225
$100 on this bet would win you $599 -- if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win 😉
Trivia answer: The USMNT gave heavily-favored Belgium quite the fight, taking them to extra-time, but they ultimately came up just short in the 2-1 defeat. Julian Green scored the lone U.S. goal in the 107th minute. Check out the highlights
