One Win Away
66 NCAA tournament games have come and gone, and now, just one remains. We have a National Championship tonight folks, but first things first, lets quickly recap a Final Four Saturday that perfectly summed up this year's Madness 🔥
In the first leg, we were treated to a thrilling battle between the mid-major darling, #9 FAU, and the pride of the Mountain West, #5 San Diego State. In a tournament that has had more than its fair share of electric finishes, this one might take the cake ⬇️

While Lamont Butler's heroics delivered the Aztecs their second-straight one-point victory, the evening's other matchup saw another tourney trend continue. #5 Miami had the misfortune of running into the buzzsaw that is #4 UConn...the Huskies are simply on another level right now 😤
UConn. It’s not supposed to be this easy man. It’s not

UConn has yet to break a sweat in the second half, while SDSU was just millimeters away from going home this weekend. But despite their wildly different paths, both are now just 40 minutes away from eternal glory. Man, I love this tournament — check out how the lines are looking for the grand finale in Houston 👇
#5 SDSU vs. #4 UConn Betting Preview (subject to change)
Spread: UConn -7.5
Moneyline: UConn -345 (bet $345, win $100), SDSU +270 (bet $100, win $270)
O/U: 132.5
When: 9:20PM EST on CBS
Can the Huskies officially cement their blue-blood status with their fifth title in the last 25 years? Or will the Aztecs, who had previously never reached the Elite 8, become one of the most surprising title teams ever? Either way, you won't want to miss it 😎
Trivia Question: Who was the tournament's Most Outstanding Player when UConn won their first title in 1999?

Tale Of The Tape
As someone with a +900 UConn future still baking in the oven, seeing the Huskies as 7.5-point favorites tonight makes me equal parts excited and nervous 😬
On one hand, the lopsided spread is a testament to the level of play we're currently seeing from Dan Hurley's squad. Remember how dominant Villanova was when they won it all back in 2018? Well, here's how the current UConn run stacks up ⬇️
The 2018 Villanova team that won a national title had an average margin of victory of 17.6 PPG in the NCAA Tournament.
UConn is beating opponents by an average of 20.6 PPG in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

It's been business as usual for the Huskies' offense, with tournament MOP favorite (-120) Adama Sanogo putting up over 20 PPG, and sophomore sharpshooter Jordan Hawkins knocking down 50% of his shots from deep 🔥
On the defensive end, they've been nearly flawless. They held the nation's highest-scoring team to just 55 points in the Elite 8, and Miami was averaging over 80 PPG in the tournament before putting up 59 on Saturday 🔐
Simply put, UConn looks like a juggernaut. And only four times in history has an underdog of at least seven points won the national championship game. But this San Diego State team seems to be at their best when they're all but written off 😤

Whether its taking down the tournament's top overall seed in the Sweet 16, or capping off a 14-point second half comeback with a buzzer-beater in the Final Four, the Aztecs refuse to go down gently
SDSU may not be stocked with NBA-caliber players like UConn, but they're deep, experienced (as Dan Hurley certainly knows), and they love playing for each other ⬇️
San Diego State doesn’t have a lottery pick on its roster.
They’re far from blue blood pedigree but this statement from Keshad Johnson is all you need to know about this group, why they’re here, & what they’re all about.
Selfless basketball.

Inconsistency plagued UConn for stretches in the regular season, and while that hasn't been an issue yet in March, all it takes is one rough game against a stingy SDSU defense to unravel everything. On paper, everything is leaning the way of the Huskies tonight, but in this tournament, nothing would surprise me 🤷🏻♂️

For My Parlay Gurus
UConn is 4-0 in National Championship games, and at the end of tonight's festivities, I expect to see the Huskies hoisting another trophy. But as a quasi-hedge, and because this SDSU team doesn't seem like they'll go down without a helluva fight, I think I gotta go with the Aztecs to cover. And as much as it kills me to go with the under in a title game, both these teams make you earn every bucket. Check out this parlay 👇
SDSU +7.5 vs. UConn: -118
Under 131.5 Total Points: -110
