MLB's Two Best Teams Face Off In NY ⚾️

We could be witnessing a record-breaking season in LA, but if anyone can slow down the Dodgers, it's the Mets. Trust me, you don't want to miss the action between the NL's top two teams tonight 😎 (3 min read)

Tonight's parlay is Under 0.5 Runs First Inning Dodgers vs. Mets and Yankees ML vs. Angels. More info below on a chance to win $100 πŸ‘‡

Battle Of The NL's Elite

Postseason baseball is right around the corner, and tonight, we get a taste of it with a potential NLCS preview. The Dodgers and Mets, the only two teams in the NL with 80+ wins this season, kick off a three-game series in Queens β€” here's how the lines are shaping up πŸ‘‡

Dodgers vs. Mets Betting Preview (subject to change)

  • Spread: Dodgers -1.5

  • Moneyline: Dodgers -136 (bet $136, win $100), Mets +116 (bet $100, win $116)

  • O/U: 8.5 Total Runs

With just over a month left to the play, LA has an 8-game cushion atop the NL, so if New York has any aspirations of home-field advantage in the playoffs, they better act now ⏰

  • The Mets have been doing everything in their power to make the race interesting, with a 24-12 record since the All-Star Break, which is third-best in the MLB over that span

  • Unfortunately for them, the Dodgers have been even better, with an MLB-best 29-8 record since the Midsummer Classic

The Boys in Blue haven't just been good recently...they've been historically good all year long πŸ”₯

Still don't believe me? Just take a look at all the records they're chasing this season

  • With Freddie Freeman (+3000), Mookie Betts (+4000) and Trea Turner (+5000) all playing like MVP candidates, there's no reason to believe the regular season success won't carry over into October πŸ“ˆ

  • Their unusually quiet trade deadline was a good indication there's plenty of World Series optimism in LA, despite facing their fair share of adversity this year πŸ‘‡

There's a good chance the Mets will be right there with them in a postseason series, which makes tonight's matchup all the more exciting. Regardless of the outcome, I expect an electric atmosphere 😎

Trivia Question: Who was the World Series MVP for the Dodgers in 2020? (answer below)

Eyes On The AL

While Mets-Dodgers rightfully steals most of tonight's spotlight, over in the AL there's a pair of highly intriguing matchups I'll have my eye on as well πŸ‘‡

Yankees vs. Angels Betting Preview (subject to change)

  • Spread: Yankees -1.5

  • Moneyline: Yankees -180, Angels +152

  • O/U: 8.5 Total Runs

LA's other squad hasn't had nearly as much success as their NL counterpart this season, but Shohei Ohtani is the biggest reason to watch the Halos

  • The two-way phenom tossed a seven-inning shutout on Saturday, before going 3-for-4 with a homer on Sunday. It's getting just ridiculous at this point, and SVG sums it up nicely πŸ‘‡

The only thing standing between Ohtani (+500) and another MVP trophy is the man facing off against him tonight, Aaron Judge (-900), who is still on pace to break Roger Maris' AL home run record this season πŸ’ͺ

  • Spread: Guardians -1.5

  • Moneyline: Guardians -154 , Orioles +130

  • O/U: 8.5 Total Runs

This matchup may not be as flashy as the LA-NY showdowns, but don't sleep on an Orioles and Guardians meeting that could have big postseason implications

  • Both Cleveland and Baltimore have 67 wins this season

  • The Guardians currently hold a slim 1.5-game lead over the Twins atop the AL Central, while the Orioles are 2-games out of the last Wild Card spot

The O's already have 15 more wins than they did all of last season, so the fact they're contending for a playoff spot is truly remarkable 🀯

For My Parlay Gurus

With two of the better pitching staffs in the MLB, it's no surprise we've got a solid duel brewing tonight between Taijuan Walker of the Mets and Andrew Heaney of the Dodgers. I'm banking on the series getting off to a slow start with a NRFI, and I'm also going with the scuffling Yankees to get back on track against the Angels. Check out this parlay πŸ‘‡

  • Under 0.5 Runs First Inning Dodgers vs. Mets: -108

  • Yankees ML vs. Angels: -180
