The NFL Heads To Mexico City šŸ‡²šŸ‡½

The wide open NFC West travels to Mexico City ā€” can the 49ers separate themselves from the pack? A win tonight against the Cardinals would make it three in a row šŸˆ (3 min read)

DejĆ” Vu In Mexico

The first NFL game that ever took place outside of the United States happened to be at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City back in 2005. At the time, the Cardinals managed to beat the 49ers handily, wining the contest 31-14. Now, both teams will square off in the same arena tonight, about 17 years removed from their initial showdown abroad. It will be the final game played internationally this season šŸŒŽ

With the NFC West completely up for grabs, tonight represents a great chance for the 49ers who...

  • Have won two games in a row against the Rams and Chargers

  • Can become the number three seed in the NFC with a W

Speaking of the NFC West, take a look at the odds to win the division. The 49ers are clear-cut favorites, despite having one less win than the Seahawks) šŸ†

Odds To Win The NFC WestĀ (subject to change)

  • 49ers: -220 (bet $220, win $100)

  • Seahawks: +195 (bet $100, win $195)

  • Cardinals: +3200

  • Rams: +7000

Who would've expected the Rams to be where they are in Week 11 heading into this season? Shocked. Niners fans are happy about it and seem to have traveled well to Mexico šŸ‘‡

Will both Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey score a TD?

MNF PreviewĀ

San Francisco is the favorite tonight for a number of reasons ā€” they have the talent advantage and are healthier than a reeling Arizona team.Ā Look for the 49ers to overwhelm a Cardinals' defense that gives up the most points in football (ranked 30th in scoring), and is especially weak in the red zone (ranked 28th in that defensive department)

  • That latter stat is important, as San Francisco has been struggling to convert TDs once they get in position ā€” against the Chargers last week, the 49ers only managed to secure two TDs after getting to the red zone five times

The Christian McCaffrey/Deebo Samuel two-headed monster has another week of practice under their belt, so I imagine the red zone issues will improve. Even though Samuel has had a bit of a down year relative to his production, he still averages 15 yards per reception and 6.6 yards per carry for his CAREER šŸ˜³

The Cardinals have a deep threat in their own right with DeAndre Hopkins, who has 36 receptions in just four games, but the WR1 is listed as questionable to play. Even if Hopkins does manage to suit up, Arizona is still down Hollywood Brown, Zach Ertz, and Kyler Murray's health is also up in the air. If called upon, backup Colt McCoy is also dealing with injury concerns šŸ¤•

  • Spread: 49ers -8.5

  • Moneyline: 49ers -375, Cardinals +300

  • Over/Under: 42.5 Total Points

Trivia Question: If Christian McCaffrey has a receivingĀ TD tonight, he will become the sixth player in NFL history to record 20 rushing TDs and 20 receivingĀ TDs over his first six seasons. Who are the other five players?

For My Parlay Gurus

Because of injury woes, I think the 49ers manage to cover the spread and get some revenge against the Cardinals after losing in the same arena 17 years ago. I'm also choosing McCaffery to secure a TD at some point against a weak defense. Take a look šŸ‘‡

  • 49ers -8.5 vs. Cardinals: -105

  • Christian McCaffery anytime TD scorer: -140
