Subway Series

Just a couple months ago, basically the entire state of New York was looking forward to a potential Subway Series in October, something that hasn't happened since 2000. That year, the Yankees defeated the Mets in five games, and Derek Jeter walked away as the World Series MVP πŸ†

However, the two New York teams meeting in the 2022 World Series is becoming just a dream, thanks to the Yankees' second half meltdown πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

    • The Bronx Bombers have gone 5-14 in August

    • Their once 15.5 game lead in the AL East is just eight

    • They've only scored 25 runs in their last 12 games

We're starting to see not only Yankee players show their frustrations, but also manager Aaron Boone 😳

There's still time for NYY to get back on track before the playoffs begin, which means there's still hope that we see an all-New York World Series matchup. As for Vegas oddsmakers, they haven't budged much, keeping both the Yankees and Mets towards the top of the board πŸ‘‡

    Worst Nightmare

The last thing a team wants to see when they're struggling is Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom on back-to-back nights. You thought the Yankees' offense looked bad the last few weeks...just tune in to the Subway Series and see what happens 😬

These two have dominated baseball, and now they're the most lethal one-two punch in the league 😀

Let's focus on Max Scherzer tonight, since he'll be on the mound to start this series in the Bronx. In his last start against the Yankees, he threw seven innings and gave up no runs, as the Mets secured a 3-2 win. Scherzer fanned Aaron Judge three times, which was all anyone could talk about πŸ‘‹

The Mets are clicking on all cylinders, including on offense, where they rank in the Top-5 in runs, hits, RBI and OPS. It's hard not to ride with the Mets tonight, who are peaking at just the right time πŸ”₯

Mets vs. Yankees Betting Preview (subject to change)

      For My Parlay Gurus

No matter which way the Yankees are trending after the All-Star Break, these games against the Mets are the most exciting matchups of the season. With Max Scherzer on the mound and the Mets sweeping the Yankees in their previous series, I'm definitely going with NYM to cover spread. I'll be pairing that with the Rays to do the same against the Angels. Check it out πŸ‘‡

      • Mets -1.5 vs. Yankees: +104

      • Rays -1.5 vs. Angels: +125
