MLB Week 2 Recap
With exactly seven days of baseball in the bag, teams around the league are starting to show us what they're made of. Already, every team in the majors has at least a win and a loss, a far cry from some of the best starts in baseball history
Here are a few of the standouts from pro baseball's first week š
People are furious that Clayton Kershaw was pulled after 13 K's in seven perfect innings. The Dodgers then gave up a hit in the eighth
27-year-old rookie Steven Kwan swung and missed for the first time in 40 swings across his six big league games. His 116 pitches seen without a swing and a miss was the longest career-opening streak since 2000
The Nationals debuted their stunning City Connect Cherry Blossom jerseys at home on April 9th

Cubs @ Rockies Preview
Entering the first of four straight games between two teams supposedly mid-rebuild, each squad has run up a winning record. The shredded Cubs sit at 3-2, while the torn-down Rockies are 4-1
Since winning the 2016 World Series, the Cubs have let their entire star-studded infield walk to greener pastures š
1B Anthony Rizzo, Yankees
2B Ben Zobrist, Retired
SS Javy Baez, Tigers
3B Kris Bryant, Rockies
On the other hand, when the Rockies allowed both of their star infielders -- Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story -- to leave, it seemed like cutting costs and rebuilding their prospect pool through the draft were the top organizational imperatives. This offseason, however, they forked over a massive, seven-year, $182 million deal to make Kris Bryant the franchise's new centerpiece š°
With their 4-1 start, including a pair of wins over the World Series favorite Dodgers, and a red-hot showing from Connor Joe in his first big league season, the Rockies are showing legitimate signs of life. However, with 157 games to go on their calendar, they're along way from proving the doubters wrong. Take a look at today's lines š

Angels @ Rangers Preview
Turning to the American League, two aggressively re-tooled teams will face off in Arlington as well. The Angels have retained and recuperated a handful of their already rostered stars š
Shohei Ohtani is back as the reigning AL MVP
Mike Trout is active after missing 126 games last season with a calf injury
Anthony Rendon is back in the lineup after sitting out 104 games last season in recovery from hip surgery
They've also added a flame-throwing former All-Star, Noah Syndergaard, who is finally healthy after having has past several seasons derailed by injury, and ultimately, Tommy John surgery. He was already excellent in his first start for the Halos, inducing a run of soft grounders with his power sinker
The Rangers actually made two of the biggest moves this offseason, inking an entire new middle infield š¤
Marcus Semien for seven years, $175 million
Corey Seager for 10 years, $325 million
While there isn't much talent there around them just yet, they have an offensive foundation to build upon for the better half of the next decade
Angels vs. Rangers Betting Preview (subject to change)
Spread: Angels -1.5 (+130), Rangers +1.5 (-156)
Moneyline: Angels to win (-134), Rangers to win (+114)
Total: Over 9 (-108), Under 9 (-112)

For My Parlay Gurus
Banking on big name pitching to come through in the clutch, I've got the Angels beating the Rangers, so long as Ohtani makes his scheduled start with the way he's pitching. I'm expecting the Rockies' regression to come sooner rather than later, but I can't help but expect them to hold serve against another undermanned team, especially at Coors Field š
Angels ML @ the Rangers: -134
Rockies ML vs. the Cubs: -130
