Seven QBs who might lead the NFL in INTs
The NFL is a passing league, so which QB do you think completes the most passes to the wrong team? 👇 (2 minute read)

Passing Leads to INTs
Over the last decade, the NFL has transitioned to a very pass heavy league. Of the Top 20 Passing Yards in a Single-Season, only two are from seasons before 2011. The majority have come from recent stars like Brady, Manning, Brees, Mahomes and Stafford
With more passes comes more interceptions. Take a look at the league leaders in INTs over the last five years
2020: Carson Wentz and Drew Lock, 15 INTs
2019: Jameis Winston, 30 INTs
2018: Ben Roethlisberger, 16 INTs
2017: DeShone Kizer, 22 INTs
2016: Philip Rivers, 21 INTs
Of these five players, Big Ben’s Steelers were the only team to finish the season with a winning record. As expected, leading the league in INTs usually goes hand-in-hand with missing the playoffs

Projected 2021 INT Leaders
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Washington: +750 (bet $100, win $750)
Sam Darnold, Panthers: +750
Jared Goff, Lions: +800
Zach Wilson, Jets: +900
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers: +1200
Jalen Hurts, Eagles: +1200
Trevor Lawrence: Jaguars: +1200
Outside of the Steelers and Washington, the five teams above make up the bottom dwellers of the NFL. Take a look at their projected win totals
Detroit Lions: 4.5 wins
New York Jets: 6 wins
Philedelphia Eagles: 6.5 wins
Jacksonville Jaguars: 6.5 wins
Carolina Panthers: 7.5 wins
The Favorite: Ryan Fitzpatrick’s career has already defied the odds, as he’s set to play for his 9th team in 15 seasons. In 165 career games, Fitz has thrown 169 INTs 🤯. While his mistakes have gone down since the early 2010s, the Washington QB is still the smart bet to lead the league in INTs

Young QBs Taking Over
Wilson, Hurts and Lawrence all enter this season with similar narratives. Each will take over a team with below average talent, new coaches and pressure to win
Robert Saleh: New Jets coach
Nick Sirianni: New Eagles coach
Urban Meyer: New Jaguars coach
Last year we saw a few franchises turn over their team’s to a Rookie QB, but none came close to the INT numbers we expect from the this season’s favorites
Justin Herbert: 31 TDs, 10 INTs, 15 games
Joe Burrow: 13 TDs, 5 INTs, 10 games
Tua Tagovailoa: 11 TDs, 5 INTs, 9 games
However, the learning curve in the NFL is steep, and coaches will allow for a few seasons of mistakes from generational talent. Regardless of 2021 numbers, all five Rookie QBs are here to stay
