🏈 Wild-Card Spot Up For Grabs
The season is winding down, but the postseason race is heating up, and TNF tonight borders on must-win territory for both the Saints and Rams. In a rematch of the infamous 2019 NFC Championship Game, this one has potential to be a classic. Rams are favored, but the Saints are heating up in December 🔥 (2 min read)
Saints-Rams Preview
We’ve got just three weeks of action remaining in the NFL regular season, but as you may know, the playoff picture is still far from settled. Last week saw a few more contenders join the 49ers as postseason locks, and a handful of teams have already been officially eliminated, but the middle of the pack is truly a mess 🤷🏻♂️
Just ask my Buffalo Bills, who are 8-6 with a +125 point differential this season, good for fifth-best in the league. But if the playoffs started today, they’d be watching from home…and in a crowded AFC with 11 teams at .500 or better, they don’t even control their own destiny the rest of the way 🤯
The Bills currently have the 7th best odds to win the super bowl... They are also not in a playoff spot right now

But that’s enough about the AFC — tonight is about the equally-tight NFC, where five teams all own a 7-7 record. Two of those squads are set to duke it out tonight on the TNF stage, and as you might imagine given that context, it’s a matchup with massive postseason implications. Check out how the lines are shaping up for a battle between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium tonight 👇

First things first, gotta address the recent history between these two teams, and if you haven’t already been reminded about one of the most infamous plays of the last decade, I’m sure you’ll see this clip a few more times before the night is over 👇

Tonight’s matchup may not have the same stakes as that playoff game, but it comes pretty dang close. With the Rams clinging to the last Wild Card spot, and the Saints just a tiebreaker away from the NFC South crown, this is about as must-win as it gets 👀
Just ran playoff leverage for Week 16 and Thursday night is ABSURDLY important.

Typically .500 teams aren’t holding a share of the division lead this late in the season, but there’s where we’re at with this year’s iteration of the NFC South. And with the Saints winning two straight in convincing fashion while putting up 27 PPG over their last three, they look a solid bet to come out on top of the division (+215) 👀
It’s coming down to the wire in the NFC South. 👀

The Saints’ trip to Tampa Bay next weekend could very well decide the division, but don’t discount the importance of tonight as well. A win over a fellow Wild Card candidate could go a long way…and it certainly helps that Derek Carr is getting back one of his most dangerous weapons 🚀
Saints’ HC Dennis Allen said WR Chris Olave will play Thursday night vs. the Rams.

Olave’s return is surely a welcome sight for a depleted group of pass catchers, and New Orleans will need all the playmaking it can get to keep up with a Rams offense that looks like one of the league’s best at full-strength 💪
Cooper Kupp, Kyren Williams and Matthew Stafford have all dealt with their share of injuries this season, but the trio is healthy and firing on all cylinders right now. Last week, Kupp and Williams combined for 266 yards and a pair of TDs in a 28-20 win over the Commanders…and Stafford has been balling out in his age-35 season ⬇️
Here's where #Rams QB Matthew Stafford ranks over the last four games:
1st in Touchdowns
2nd in Passer Rating
T-3rd in Interceptions
T-4th in Big-Time-Throws
T-4th in Turnover Worthy Plays
5th in Passing Yards
8th in Completion %— JAKE ELLENBOGEN (@JKBOGEN)

Add in an Aaron Donald-led defense, and the Rams look like a team no one wants to run into in the playoffs…but they have to make it there first. A win over a tough Saints team tonight is the first step; can they get it done in front of their home crowd? 🍿

Trivia Question: Where did Kyren Williams play college football?
For My Parlay Gurus
I’d love to see this Rams’ offense in the postseason, and I think they have the firepower to make that a reality. I’m banking on them to take care of business at home tonight, with Cooper Kupp staying hot in the process. Check out this parlay 👇
Rams -4.5 vs. Saints: -105
Cooper Kupp Anytime TD: +130
