Russell Wilson Is 9-1 On TNF, But The Seahawks Are Home Underdogs Tonight

Since 2017, the Rams are 3-1 on TNF. Their only loss came vs Russell Wilson and the Seahawks 👇 (3 minute read)

Thursday Night Football Preview

The Seahawks (2-2) are taking on the Rams (3-1) in Seattle tonight. Vegas oddsmakers don’t seem to care about the 12th Man, because they have the Seahawks as home underdogs in this matchup

  • Spread: Rams -2.5

  • Money-line: Rams -140 (bet $140, win $100), Seahawks +120

  • O/U: 54.5

While the Seahawks lead the all-time series, 25-22, the Rams have taken six of the last eight meetings. One of those being in last year’s playoffs, where the Rams were +150 and handed Russell Wilson his first postseason home loss

However, the one thing going for Seattle is the fact that NFL underdogs this season hold a slight edge

  • Underdogs are 38-26 ATS (against the spread)

  • HOME underdogs are 13-11 ATS

Side note: Seattle has been a regular season home underdog only nine times since Russell Wilson came on the scene in 2012, going 5-4 straight up and 6-3 ATS in those spots

The King Of TNF

The Rams have played one Thursday night game in each of the last four years, posting an impressive 3-1 record. The only team to beat them? The Seahawks in 2019. Who was at the helm? Russell Wilson

Wilson’s Career TNF Stats:

  • Games: 10

  • Record: 9-1

  • Total TDs: 20

  • Interceptions: 4

Wilson’s 9-1 record on TNF is the best record, by winning percentage, of any quarterback since 2000. The Seahawks are also 7-1 against divisional opponents on TNF under his command

Wilson’s Prop Bet

Wilson is off to another great start this season…sounds like déjà vu! Through four games, he’s thrown nine touchdowns (tied for 5th-most in NFL) and ZERO interceptions. Knowing all of that, let’s take a look at his passing TD prop bet

Passing Touchdowns O/U vs the Rams:

  • Over 1.5: -167

  • Under 1.5: +125

It’s worth noting that no team has sacked, intercepted, or defeated Wilson more than the Rams. Los Angeles’ defense is only giving up 1.0 passing TDs per game this season (tied for 5th-best in NFL). However, there’s one stat that I’m keeping in mind when I decide to take the over 👇

Wilson has thrown two or more touchdowns in five straight games when playing on Thursday night (Wilson’s TD pass to Tyler Lockett in 2019 was one of his most memorable)

For My Parlay Gurus

With the Rams losing their first game of the season on Sunday to the Cardinals, I’m not sure they’ll be ready for the Seahawks in Seattle. Because of that, my TNF parlay is all in favor of Wilson and the Seahawks

  • Seahawks’ money-line: +120

  • Wilson Over 1.5 Passing TDs: -167

If you bet $100 on this parlay, you’d be looking at a $250 payout. That’s enough for me to cop two of the Seahawks’ 12th FAN jerseys…count me in 🙌
