North Carolina (-410) Is 13-2 At Home This Season

With just 3 weeks until Selection Sunday, every game has NCAA Tournament implications. Louisville will take on UNC tonight, can the Tar Heels solidify their spot in the field of 68? šŸ”µ (4 min read)

Happy Monday, my man Jake Klopp is getting an OT Mini Hoop. Also, told you KAT would win the 3-Point Contest šŸ¤‘ — let’s talk Louisville vs. UNC šŸ‘‡

Louisville @ North Carolina Preview

Two blue-bloods will square off in their 17th conference game of the season. At 12-14, Louisville’s odds to make the NCAA Tournament will rely heavily on their performance in the upcoming ACC Tournament, but North Carolina is on the bubble, so each of their last four regular season games hold A LOT of weight šŸ‘‡

  • Spread: North Carolina -10

  • Moneyline: Louisville +310 (bet $100, win $310), North Carolina -410 (bet $410, win $100)

  • Over/Under: 145

Earlier this month, North Carolina beat Louisville in an overtime thriller, 90-83. Armando Bacot had 19 points and a career-high 22 rebounds for the Tar Heels — if this rematch is anything like the last, we’re in for a real treat tonight šŸæ

Inconsistent Personnel

After losing seven straight games for the first time since 1941, Louisville finally jumped back in the win column on Saturday, defeating Clemson at home. Part of the reason why the Cardinals have struggled this season is their inability to settle on a starting lineup

  • Louisville has started 14 different lineups this season, the most since 2016-17 (9)

  • Not a single player on Louisville’s roster is averaging double figures

  • Malik Williams, who is a fifth-year senior, is shooting 47.0 FG%, while averaging the second-most PPG on the team. However, he was suspended for two games in February and benched in another

The Cardinals are 10th in the ACC, a conference which is projected to have just five teams make the NCAA Tournament. With Louisville’s lack of fire power and unpredictable lineups, I think they’ll have their hands full with North Carolina tonight šŸ™„

Feeling The Pressure

North Carolina’s first season without Coach Roy Williams at the helm has been a rollercoaster ride. Coach Hubert Davis, Roy’s successor, has the Tar Heels at 19-8 (11-5 in ACC), where they’re still considered a bubble team

A road win against Virginia Tech on Saturday gave the Tar Heels an opportunity to breathe just a little bit. UNC has four ACC opponents left to finish their season, and one of those is a trip to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on Duke šŸ˜•

  • For most of 2021-22, UNC has relied on Armando Bacot and Caleb Love to carry the load. They are two of four Tar Heels players who are averaging double figures

  • Bacot became the sixth player in North Carolina history to notch 20 double-doubles in a season. The school record is 23 by Brice Johnson in 2015-16, a number that Bacot might hit

  • Love is averaging 15.3 PPG, and UNC is 10-0 over the last two seasons when he scores 20 points or more

With North Carolina averaging 77.8 PPG vs. Louisville’s 68.3 PPG this season, I’m going to ride with the Tar Heels against the spread tonight šŸ‘£

For My Parlay Gurus

The Tar Heels have been spectacular at home this season, going 13-2 at the Dean E. Smith Center. When you’re on the bubble, every game is like a playoff game, so I expect UNC to come out well-prepared against Louisville. To finish my parlay, I’m taking Ohio State over Indiana in a Big Ten showdown

  • North Carolina -10 vs. Louisville: +100

  • Ohio State -7 vs. Indiana: -105

$100 on this bet would win you $290 — if we hit, make sure to email [email protected] for $100*. First come, first serve šŸ˜‰
