NFL Division With The Tightest Odds
Since we're less than two months away from the 2022-23 NFL season, let's take a look at how each team, in what should be the toughest division in the NFL, stacks up. AFC West preview coming in hot 🏈 (3 min read)
Since there's no NFL just yet, we got a solid MLB parlay for tonight — Astros ML vs. Yankees (Game 1 of DH) and Dodgers -1.5 vs. Giants. More info below on a chance to win $100 👇

Breaking Down The AFC West
It's mid-July, which means the temperature is boiling, sports have slowed to a crawl, and the lone highlights we get are usually double-play related. But instead of analyzing every single report about a potential LeBron and Kyrie reunion in LA, let's look ahead to the upcoming NFL season 👇
NFL pre-season begins on August 4th, with the Raiders hosting the Jaguars
The regular season begins with an electric matchup on September 8th, as the defending champion Rams welcome the Bills to SoFi Stadium
It's early, but both of these teams could find themselves pitted against each other in the Super Bowl — Buffalo is the favorite (+650) to hoist the Lombardi, while the Rams have the fourth-best odds at +1100
Before we dive into the details, here's a breakdown of the AFC West division odds 🏈
AFC West Division Winner (subject to change)
Kansas City Chiefs: +155 (bet $100, win $155)
Los Angeles Chargers: +240
Denver Broncos: +260
Las Vegas Raiders: +700

Battle Of The Quarterbacks
One aspect of this division that sticks out is the elite-level quarterback play. While Derek Carr is not quite up to the standards as the other three players, he still has a 92.4 career passing rate. Speaking of ratings, this year's AFC West will make history with each play caller boasting 90+ 🤯
The 2022 AFC West is set to be the 1st division in NFL history to have 4 QBs with a 90+ career passer rating entering a season (min. 500 pass attempts)
Career Passer Rating:
✔️ Patrick Mahomes: 105.8
✔️ Russell Wilson: 101.8
✔️ Justin Herbert: 97.9
✔️ Derek Carr: 92.4— NFL Research (@NFLResearch)

📍 Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)
What needs to be said about Mahomes? He's been to two Super Bowls already, and has posted a 21-3 record against the rest of the AFC West since he put on a Kansas City uniform 🐐
📍 Justin Herbert (Chargers)
Entering his third season, there will be some playoff expectations for Herbert. Not to mention, he's the favorite to secure the most passing yards for the 2022-23 season at +700
📍 Russell Wilson (Broncos)
Wilson has one Super Bowl under his belt, but it's been nine years since that dub. After last year's lackluster season, expect him to come into the Broncos' opener on September 12th against the Seahawks with a chip on his shoulder ☠️
📍 Derek Carr (Raiders)
We mentioned Carr is weakest link of this group, but he did have the third-lowest turnover-worthy plays in the red zone last year at 0.9%. He might be a long-shot for the most regular season passing yards at +1100, but with Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow as two pro-bowl options, look out for Carr 😤

It's All About The Ws
The only thing fans care about is how many wins their team can rack up during the season, and with how competitive the AFC West is, expect to see a lot of Ws. Let's check out the numbers 👇
Over/Under Win Totals For The AFC West (subject to change)
Chiefs O/U: 10.5 wins
Chargers O/U: 9.5 wins
Broncos O/U: 9.5 wins
Raiders O/U: 8.5 wins
As you can see, the projected wins for each AFC West team is in-line with the division odds. No betting arbitrage here 😑
Trivia Question: Where does Derek Carr rank among Troy Aikman, John Elway and Jim Kelly when it comes to career passing yards and TDs through their first eight seasons? (answer below)

For My Parlay Gurus
Since we still need a parlay, I'm tapping into baseball's first day back from the All-Star break. I like the Astros over the Yankees in Game 1 of a doubleheader in Houston, and I think the Dodgers will cover the spread against the Giants. Check it out 👇
Astros ML vs. Yankees (Game 1 of DH): -126
Dodgers -1.5 vs. Giants: +125
