š Big Shift In NCAAF Odds
It's been a while since we've seen both Texas and FSU near the top of college football rankings, but with both teams already capturing statement victories, there's been some serious early shuffling amongst championship hopefuls. Do you believe in the hype? š (2 min read)
College Football Check-In
In the world of college football, first impressions may not matter as much as final impressions, but they can still make or break your resume in the eyes of the CFP Selection Committee. Quite a bit of early movement in title odds just two full weeks into the season can attest to thatā¦take a look at your newest betting favorites š
Well, not all the top contenders are new. The two-time reigning champs down in Georgia look to be exactly who we thought they were, and up in Michigan, the Wolverines have hardly broken a sweat despite the absence of Jim Harbaugh. But if youāre looking for some of the biggest early risers, look no further than the two teams with the next best odds š
Are the Seminoles and Longhorns both officially back? Two of college football most storied programs havenāt had much success during the CFP era, with just one combined appearance between them. But if early returns are any indication, that could change this season
As preseason top-12 teams, both came into the year with high expectations, so their success so far certainly isnāt a total surprise. But whatās been eye-opening is how good theyāve each looked while facing some of the toughest early season tests in the nation šŖ
Letās start with FSU, who kicked off their season with a neutral site battle against #5 LSU. The ACC came out on top over the SEC in this one, with Nolesā senior QB Jordan Travis surging up everyoneās Heisman watch list after a stellar performance ā¬ļø
Travis was back it again in Week 2, and he now finds himself with the fourth-best odds (+1000) to bring home college footballās top individual honor. And over in Austin, the Longhornsā quarterback has had a Heisman leap of his own; sophomore Quinn Ewers (+750) now only trails the incumbent Caleb Williams (+400) atop the odds board š³
Ewers is doing everything in his power to make Texas fans forget thereās a QB named Manning on the roster. He was simply sensational on Saturday night, and the stage doesnāt get much bigger than a primetime battle against #3 Alabama in Tuscaloosa š¤
You donāt come to Bama and steal a win in Nick Sabanās house unless youāre legit, regardless of the slow start from the SEC. Iām definitely buying the early hype on both Texas and FSU, and if youāre looking to back a contender that isnāt gunning for a three-peat, you may want to jump on the Horns or Nolesā bandwagon before its too late š
Trivia Question: How many NFL teams has Colt McCoy, the Longhornsā all-time leading passer, attempted a pass for?
For My Parlay Gurus
No top-five SEC opponents await this weekend ā instead, FSU will dive into conference play on the road at Boston College, while Texas hosts Wyoming. The spreads may be sizable, but Iām still taking both of them to cover. Check out this parlay š
