Championship Odds Update
The race for this season's Larry O'Brien trophy is heating up, with the conference semifinals kicking off yesterday. Both road teams won - the Bucks locked up Boston without Khris Middleton, and the Warriors stopped Ja at the buzzer. If you're looking for a future, it's all about the Western Conference, with the Warriors at +240 and the Suns at +300 to win it all š„
The Suns looked like the best team in the league all year, yet appeared shockingly mortal in a hard-fought first round series vs. NOLA
The Warriors dispatched an undermanned Nuggets squad with relative ease, and held off Memphis yesterday even with Draymond Green being ejected in the first round
Don't sleep on Heat at +650, who will face the Sixers without Embiid for at least the first two games
With two games slated for tonight, take a look at the odds heading into tip-off š
Sixers vs. Heat Betting Preview (subject to change)

Moneyline: Heat -320 (bet $320, win $100), Sixers +260 (bet $100, win $260)
O/U: 208.5

Injuries Galore
After a disappointing two game stretch in their first round series vs. the Raptors, the Sixers worked a few things out in their dominant Game 6 win. Then, every Philly fan's worst nightmare came true, as Doc Rivers inexplicably kept Joel Embiid in the game with a late lead, and the star center sustained an orbital fracture and a concussion. James Harden will now need to step up for the Sixers, who will miss Embiid for at least the first two games š¬
Harden doesn't exactly have the best track record (š good read) in the playoffs, and he's looked a step slower this year after struggling with a hamstring injury. Philly will need more of his Game 6 masterclass
Tyrese Maxey also showed out in the closeout win, and will look to carry the scoring load in an increased offensive role
On the other side, Miami has also been bitten by the injury bug. Jimmy Butler, coming off of one of the finest series of his illustrious career, has been hampered by a knee injury. Offseason addition Kyle Lowry will sit out Game 1, missing his third straight game with a hamstring injury š
Butler will continue to attack and orchestrate Miami's offense if he can play, as he has shown himself to be a top-level playoff performer over the years
Star big man Bam Adebayo will be opportunistic in the paint in Embiid's absence
Former All-Star Victor Oladipo showed serious signs of life in the Game 5 closeout, and will look to carry that momentum into Round 2 š„
Trivia Question: Victor Oladipo was the 2nd overall pick in 2013, a suspect draft that has produced only three All-Stars. Can you name the 1st overall pick and all three All-Stars? (answer below)

A Battle Out West
The Mavs looked like a team that might be in trouble just a couple weeks ago. However, they overcame Luka Doncic's three-game absence to take a series lead and eventually close out the hapless Utah Jazz. Jalen Brunson found his stride as a lead scorer, and Luka returned to take them over the top š
Brunson was a revelation in the first round, looking every bit the secondary star that Luka has lacked in Dallas
Doncic continues to stack up historic numbers in his young playoff career
The Mavs will have to step up their intensity in this series, as Utah's disjointed attack pales in comparison's to the well-oiled machine in Phoenix
While the Suns showed chinks in the armor against NOLA, they closed out the series just like they've finished off teams all year - with remarkable late-game execution. Veteran floor general Chris Paul was literally perfect in the closeout performance, adding another gem to an unbelievable age-36 season. The Suns will need his co-star Devin Booker to regain form after a hamstring injury š
Booker struggled in Game 6, but found his legs down the stretch, sparking hope in Suns fans that he can get back in gear this series
Star center Deandre Ayton was fantastic in the first round, as he continues to push for a max extension this offseason š¤
Defensive stud Mikal Bridges will have his hands full this series with Luka, but few (if any) wings in the league are better equipped to handle the Mavs star
I'm definitely excited about this series in particular, and Game 1 should be a battle tonight in Phoenix šæ

For My Parlay Gurus
For tonight, I like the Heat at home, as the Sixers adjust to life without Embiid. I also think Dallas will steal Game 1 on the road, but to play it safe we'll just take the points. Don't be shocked if Luka goes off tonight, reminding us he's the best player in the series. Check it out š
Heat -7.5 vs. Sixers: -110
Mavs +5.5 @ Suns: -110
$100 on this bet would win you $264 ā if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win š
Trivia Answer: Anthony Bennett was the first pick of the 2013 draft and was a major bust. The three All-Stars from the draft are Oladipo, Giannis and Gobert. CJ McCollum is the only other player from 2013 who has had a legit career
