Kansas (-11) Is Playing TCU For The 2nd Time In Three Days

Just days after being on the wrong end of an upset at TCU, the Jayhawks get to host their familiar foe tonight in a crucial Big 12 matchup 🍿 (4 minute read)

TCU vs. Kansas Preview

It’s never any fun dropping a game in conference play, but at least for the team on the losing end, there’s often a chance for redemption down the line. However, rarely does that chance come just two nights later 😏

After taking a loss at TCU on Tuesday, their second-straight defeat, the Kansas Jayhawks return home tonight to face the Horned Frogs once again. Take a look at the lines ahead of the Big 12 showdown at the historic Allen Fieldhouse 👇

TCU @ #6 Kansas Betting Preview (subject to change)

  • Spread: Kansas -11

  • Moneyline: TCU +490 (bet $100 , win $490), Kansas -710 (bet $710, win $100)

  • Over/Under: 143.5

Kansas was leading at half in Tuesday’s matchup, but TCU outscored them by 11 points after the break to pull off the 74-64 court-stormin' victory 😎. What a crazy line for two teams that just played on Tuesday...

March Momentum

With just two games apiece left on both these teams’ regular season schedules, time is running out to build up positive momentum prior to postseason play. And when March Madness rolls around, momentum is everything 😤

  • TCU seems to be finding their groove at exactly the right time. The Horned Frogs have taken down two straight top-10 teams (Kansas and #9 Texas Tech on Saturday), all but solidifying their tournament spot in the process

  • Meanwhile, Kansas has suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season. They now sit a half-game back of Baylor, who beat them on Saturday, in the Big 12 standings

It was a pair of tough games on the road for the Jayhawks, so I wouldn’t go pressing the panic button just yet. They’re still on the short list of true title contenders this season (+1200, tied for 5th-best odds), and playing in front of a home crowd tonight should provide an ideal opportunity to get back on track

  • Friendly reminder that Kansas is utterly dominant at home — during Bill Self’s tenure, they’ve won over 94% of their games at “The Phog”, and they’ve yet to drop a home game in conference play this year

  • In fact, TCU has never won a game on the road at Kansas 🤯

If tonight is going to be the first, they’ll likely need another standout performance from sophomore guard Mike Miles, who has put up 22.5 PPG across their last two upset wins 💪

Trivia question: TCU's head coach, Jamie Dixon, coached at another Power 5 school for 13 seasons prior to leaving to join his alma mater. Where did he previously coach? (answer below)

Big Ten Action

The encore performance in the Big 12 isn’t the only intriguing storyline in college hoops tonight. Take a look at the lines for a pair of Big Ten clashes worth checking out 👇

  • Spread: Michigan -1

  • Moneyline: Iowa -102, Michigan -118

  • Over/Under: 155.5

Like Kansas, Iowa will also be seeking revenge against an unranked opponent. When these teams faced two weeks ago, Michigan managed to escape Iowa City with an 84-79 victory

  • That loss is the lone blemish on Iowa’s resume since January, and the surging Hawkeyes now have the third-best odds to win the Big Ten tournament (+460)

  • On the other side, the Wolverines remain stuck on the March Madness bubble, and they could desperately use another statement win to solidify their case

  • Spread: Ohio State -6

  • Moneyline: MSU +205, OSU -255

  • Over/Under: 138.5

Its been a whirlwind past few weeks for Michigan State, who is 2-6 over their last eight games. But, one of those wins was at the buzzer over #4 Purdue

  • Can the Spartans find any kind of consistency before the postseason? They’re likely in the tournament no matter what, but this doesn’t look like the top-10 team we saw back in January

  • Coming off consecutive uninspiring losses to a pair of unranked teams, Ohio State is trending in the wrong direction as well 😬

For My Parlay Gurus

Kansas has lost three games in a row just once since 2013, and I don't see that changing tonight. I got the Jayhawks cruising to victory over TCU this time around, and I'm also taking the Hawkeyes on the road. Take a look 👇

  • Kansas -11 vs. TCU: -110

  • Iowa +1 @ Michigan: -110

$100 on this parlay would net $264 — if we hit, make sure to email [email protected] for $100*. First come, first serve 😉

Trivia answer: Dixon was head coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2003-2016; he won a school-record 31 games his first year, and he led the Panthers to NCAA Tournament appearances in 11 out of 13 seasons
