The Jets Are A Double-Digit Underdog For The Second Straight Game

Thursday Night Football Preview
It’s safe to say oddsmakers are not fully buying into the Mike White hype train…
The young signal caller tossed for over 400 yards and a trio of touchdowns last Sunday, leading the Jets to a shocking upset win over the AFC North-leading Bengals. They even whipped out the now-called Mike White Special. But, once again New York finds themselves as a double-digit underdog this week against the Colts
Spread: Colts -10.5
Moneyline: Jets +400 (bet $100, win $400), Colts -526
Over/Under: 46
The line opened at Colts -14, so the betting momentum is in the Jets favor coming off their best performance of the season. But, they’ll have their work cut out for them tonight as they travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to face a motivated Colts team looking to avenge their heartbreaking overtime loss to the Titans last week

Life As A Perennial Underdog
Little may be expected of the Jets ahead of this Thursday night showdown, but that’s just par for the course this season; they’ve been at least a field goal underdog in every game thus far
The Jets haven’t been favored in a game since they were -1 against the Broncos in Week Four of last season
In addition to their 2-5 record this season, the Jets are also 2-5 against the spread (ATS), having failed to cover in each of their losses
However, interestingly enough, the Jets may actually perform their best when the odds are the longest. Dating back to last season, they’ve won outright in two of the last three games in which they’ve been double-digit underdogs 🤔
Trivia Question: When is the last time the Jets had a winning season? (answer below)

Can They Do It Again?
Another unexpected victory might be a tall task, but don’t be surprised if the Jets buck their ATS trends this year and make this one competitive. If they do, it’ll likely be because of the two young playmakers who shined last week, QB Mike White and RB Michael Carter
White became the first Jets QB since 2000 to throw for 400 yards in a game, doing so in his first career start
But was it just a flash in the pan? The former fifth-round pick was cut by the Cowboys in 2019 before ever taking a snap, and his first taste of action against the Patriots two weeks ago was largely uninspiring
But while putting your faith in the unproven White is a risky proposition, Carter looks to be the real deal
He had his true breakout game last week, rushing 15 times for 77 yards and a touchdown, while also grabbing nine passes for an additional 95 yards
In the process, he became the youngest Jets player to top 170 all-purpose yards in a game
It was the rookie’s second straight game with 100+ yards from scrimmage and at least a 70% snap count
The Jets had their best offensive performance of the season by far with Carter as the focal point, so maybe they found their recipe for success 🤷🏽♂️

For My Parlay Gurus
As much as I want to believe, I just don’t know if Mike White and the Jets have another miraculous victory in them, especially on the road. But, if the Michael Carter All-Purpose Show continues, they’ll have a fighting chance. I’m banking on exactly that in my parlay👇
Carter over 48.5 rushing yards: -114
Carter over 35.5 receiving yards: -114
Jets +10.5: -110
$100 on this would pay out a very cool $572. If it hits, make sure to email [email protected] for $100. First come, first serve 😉
