Goodnight Boston 🏝

Miami is on the verge of the most unprecedented Finals run in NBA history, as Boston looked completely broken at the end of Game 3. Might be time to bring the brooms out, I have a feeling Himothy Butler doesn't want this series going back to Boston πŸ€ (2 min read)

It Might Be Over

I think it’s safe to say that these playoffs have been the most exciting since in a long time, and shoutout to the Nuggets for making their first NBA Finals appearance. At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon, part of the reason why these playoffs have been so amazing is because legacy narratives are secondary to the on-court product. On top of that, we’re witnessing an unprecedented run from an eight seed, headlined by Himothy Butler 😀

Miami outscored Boston in the first three quarters of Game 3, limiting the pre-season title favorites to just 17 points in the third quarter in what was a wire-to-wire blowout πŸ’₯

While Butler has been nothing short of magical, the Heat as a team are getting unbelievable production from pretty much everyone who steps on the court πŸ‘‡

  • This same squad was the fourth worst 3-pt shooting team during the regular season at just 34.4%

  • In the playoffs however, Miami has been the best shooting team from deep at a scorching 38.8%, with an average of around 35 attempts per game

Scoring has been relatively spread out among the Heat - Jimmy Butler is carrying the bulk of the load, but receiving help from the entire rotation. Miami has five players averaging at least 10 PPG in the playoffs 🏝

  • Jimmy Butler (29.9 PPG)

  • Bam Adebayo (18.1 PPG)

  • Gabe Vincent (12.9 PPG)

  • Caleb Martin (12.6 PPG)

  • Max Strus (11.1 PPG)

Kyle Lowry (9.5) and Duncan Robinson (8.9), who just passed LeBron for the most threes made in Heat playoff history, are close to that double-figure mark as well πŸ‘€

While the Heat have thoroughly suffocated the Celtics, Boston is not this much worse. Something is obviously off in the locker room 😒

Outside of Butler, I think my favorite player on the Heat this series is Bam Adebayo. His impact doesn’t always show up in the box score, but damn he plays hard on both sides of the ball, and even whipped out this nasty post move on Sunday 🚨

  • Spread: Heat -1.5

  • Moneyline: Heat -118, Celtics +100

  • O/U: 216.5

Trivia Question: Four bigs were taken over Bam Adebayo in the 2017 NBA draft. Who were they? Bam was picked No. 14 overall

For My Parlay Gurus

After getting blown out by close to 30 in a game that was over by the 10 minute mark of the fourth quarter, I’m officially ready to say that the Heat will complete the sweep. I’ll take Miami to cover spread β€” but I also like the over on Kyle Lowry’s threes. He’s hit at least two deep-balls seven times this postseason in 14 games. Wish me luck πŸ”₯

  • Heat -1.5 vs. Celtics: -108

  • Kyle Lowry Over 1.5 Made Threes: +104

$100 on this bet would win you $255 β€” if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win πŸ˜‰
