Green Bay Faces Their Biggest Spread (+6.5) In The Last Three Years

No Davante Adams? No problem. Aaron Rodgers is 6-0 since 2019 when his top wideout doesn't play. Let's see who shows up tonight vs the Cardinals 🧀 (4 minute read)

Thursday Night Football Preview

When a team has rattled off six straight wins and has the reigning league MVP under center, rarely do you ever find them as a touchdown underdog. But that will be the case tonight, when the 6-1 Green Bay Packers travel to Arizona to face the 7-0 Cardinals

  • Spread: Cardinals -6.5

  • Moneyline: Packers +230 (bet $100, win $230), Cardinals -275

  • Over/Under: 50

Just how uncommon is it for Aaron Rodgers and company to face such a heavily favored opponent? 6.5 points are the most the Packers have been given in a regular season game since they faced the similarly undefeated Rams exactly three years ago today 🤯

COVID Troubles

Certainly no disrespect meant to the Cardinals here — as the league’s lone remaining unbeaten team, they undoubtedly look the part of a legitimate contender. But perhaps the biggest reason behind tonight’s inflated line? The Packers will be without star wide receiver Davante Adams due to COVID-19 protocols

  • Lines for the Thursday night matchup opened at Cardinals -3.5

  • News broke on Monday that Adams had tested positive for the virus and would likely be unable to clear protocols in time for the game

  • Allen Lazard, currently the Green Bay’s third-leading receiver, was also placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list as a close contact and will be unavailable as well

It’s safe to say the Packers won’t be at full force on offense tonight, and as good as Aaron Rodgers is, unfortunately you can’t throw the ball to yourself like this guy

Trivia question: Who is this last Packers’ wide receiver, aside from Davante Adams, to be selected to the Pro Bowl? (answer below)

Don’t Count Out The MVP

No Davante is certainly a tough blow, but let’s just make one thing clear — if anyone can do more with less, its Rodgers

  • In the two games Adams missed last season, Rodgers went 2-0, putting up 33.5 points per game while tossing for 610 yards and seven touchdowns

  • Sample size not big enough for ya? Since 2019, Rodgers is 6-0 and averaging over 310 passing yards/2.8 touchdowns a game when Davante doesn’t play

  • The Packers’ QB is also playing as well as anyone in the league right now, throwing for 15 touchdowns and just one interception during the team’s current win streak

So with all that being said, Rodgers individual prop lines for tonight look pretty modest 🧀

  • O/U 260.5 passing yards: -113

  • O/U 1.5 passing TDs: -180 (O), +140 (U)

Arizona has been stingy against the pass this season, allowing just 201 passing yards per game (3rd best in the league). But ,their performance has undoubtedly been boosted by the mediocre level of QB play they’ve seen so far. Rodgers is a whole different animal 😤

For My Parlay Gurus

You probably saw this one coming…a clash of two of the NFC’s best under the bright lights of a primetime game. No matter who he has to throw to, something tells me A-Rod is still going to show out. Whether he can take down the mighty Cardinals remains to be seen, but look for him to at least make it close while also hitting these props 👇

  • Rodgers over 260.5 passing yards: -113

  • Rodgers over 1.5 passing TDs: -180

  • Packers +6.5: -110

$100 on this parlay would pay out a nice $457. If it hits, make sure to email [email protected] for $100. First come, first serve 😉
