A GOAT, Hometown Hero, The Wildcard & An Injury

With the Wimbledon Semis kicking off early Friday morning, we wanted to make sure you had ample time to prepare. Djokovic is a huge favorite vs. London's very own Cam Norrie, while Nadal withdrew from his match vs. Kyrgios due to an abdomen injury. Novak now has a clear path to narrowing the title gap between him and Rafa, can the Brit spoil it? ๐ŸŽพ (4 min read)

With Nadal withdrawing due to an injury, we now have a lone Friday tennis match starting early. We wanted to get something in your inbox ahead of time, so we've got Djokovic beating Norrie in straight sets and Djokovic -7.5 total games ๐Ÿ‘‡

Wimbledon Update

We have one finals set, where No. 3 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia will take on No. 17 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan Saturday morning. The winner of this will grab their first career major title, and there's certainly some intrigue in the matchup ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • Jabeur is the first Arab/African/Muslim player to make the finals at Wimbledon (favored at -154)

  • At 23 y/o, Rybakina is the youngest finalist since 2015. She was actually born in Moscow, but is representing Kazakhstan due to Wimbledon's ban on Russian and Belarusian players

This match will have to wait, as everyone's focus will be on the men's semifinals tomorrow morning. Although the build-up was higher just a few hours ago, we now have to see who Nick Kyrgios will play in Sunday morning's finals. For those of you who missed it, Rafael Nadal withdrew from Friday's match - listen here. Still left is No. 1 Djokovic and Britain's very own No. 9 Cameron Norrie, check out future odds for the remaining three men ๐Ÿ†

Men's Wimbledon Winner (subject to change)

  • No. 1 Novak Djokovic: -380 (bet $380, win $100)

  • Nick Kyrgios: +300 (bet $100, win $300)

  • No. 9 Cameron Norrie: +2700

  • No. 2 Rafael Nadal: WITHDREW

Home-Court Advantage?

Since 2005, Andy Murray has the best finish (see graphic below) at Wimbledon among all British tennis players in 13 of the last 16 tournaments. Murray went on to win it all in 2013 and 2016, something incredibly rare when your country is hosting the tournament and you're playing in the Big 3 era ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

This time around, the London crowd has a different countrymen to root for, as Cam Norrie has been putting on a show. Before this run, Norrie hadn't made it past the third-round in any of the four majors ๐Ÿ‘€

  • While Norrie plays for Britain, he actually was born in South Africa, and played three years of college tennis at TCU

  • He was the top-ranked male tennis player in the US during his collegiate days, and during the 2016-17 season, Norrie was the only player to go 10-0 in the Big 12 in both singles and doubles

Now, all that's between Norrie and a hometown finals berth is...Novak Djokovic. While Novak hasn't been his dominant self this tournament, he just pulled off one of the best comebacks of his career vs. No. 10 Jannik Sinner, and enters the match as a massive favorite ๐Ÿ‘‡

Djokovic vs. Norrie Odds (subject to change)

  • Novak Djokovic to win: -1800

  • Cameron Norrie to win: +920

Norrie should have the crowd, but I'll be shocked if he gets even one set. We'll find out soon ๐ŸŽพ

The Aussie's Run

If you haven't heard of Nick Kyrgios, you haven't been watching much tennis. Known as one of the most talented players in the world, his dedication to the sport and mental aspect of the game has held him back over the last few years. He's played the best tennis of his career during this run, highlighted by a win over No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas and some epic trash talk ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

  • Nick is actually one of three players (Dominik Hrbatรฝ and Lleyton Hewitt) to have beaten each member of the Big 3 the first time he played them

  • Before Rafa withdrew, Kyrgios was +500 to win Wimbledon. Since the news broke about the bye to the finals, Nick's line went down to +300

With Nadal out, Nick now awaits the winner of the Djokovic vs. Norrie match. It's a shame for all tennis fans, as his highly anticipated meeting with Rafa will now have to come another time. Kyrgios even boldly predicted that Friday's clash would have been the most-watched tennis match of all-time ๐Ÿ˜ญ

For My Parlay Gurus

Everyone wants to see as many Djokovic vs. Nadal matches as possible, but I still liked Kyrgios this time around because of Rafa's health. That's obviously mute now, and with just one match Friday, we're looking at a same game parlay that heavily features Djokovic ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • Djokovic to beat Norrie 3-0: -160

  • Djokovic -7.5 total games: -120

$100 on this bet would win you $198 โ€” if we hit, make sure you email [email protected] for a chance to win up to $100*. Many will enter, only some will win ๐Ÿ˜‰
