Embiid Has Scored 30+ Points In Eight Straight Games

The Sixers are currently fifth in the crowded East, while the Celtics are struggling at .500. Embiid is playing some dominant ball recently, can he keep his scoring streak going? đŸ’Ș (3 minute read)

The Grizzlies have won eleven games in a row, and John Konchar (yeah that’s right) went off — let’s talk Celtics vs. Sixers 👇

Celtics @ Sixers Preview

Tonight, two storied Eastern Conference rivals take center stage for their third time this season, having split the previous two games. Neither team has performed as well as last season, but the Sixers are far better off than the struggling Celtics

  • Sixers: 5th place, 23-17

  • Celtics: 10th place, 21-21

Despite their poor performance over the first half of this season, the Celtics have gotten the better of the 76ers historically, winning 62 of their 109 postseason games. Here’s how the lines are shaping up 👇

  • Spread: Sixers -3

  • Moneyline: Celtics +130 (bet $100, win $130), Sixers -150 (bet $150, win $100)

  • O/U: 212

The two teams have met twice in the postseason over the past four seasons, with the Sixers winning just a single game 🔕

  • 2018 Eastern Conference Semifinals: 4-1 Celtics

  • 2020 Eastern Conference First Round: 4-0 Celtics

However, that all goes out the window tonight, as each team enters with a chance to send a message by taking the lead in their season series

Embiid’s a Bad Man

In the Sixers’ loss to the Hornets on Wednesday, it seemed like Embiid was out there playing one-on-five. Philly failed to slow down the Hornets’ offensive attack, but Embiid was able to become the third Sixer ever to score at least 30 points in eight straight games

  • ❓ The Question: Who were the other two to do it?

  • đŸ™‹â€â™‚ïž The Answer: Allen “The Answer” Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain

Embiid’s per game stats are around his excellent marks from last season, but his improvement as a passer out of the post has led to a career-high in assists per game (4.3)

  • That’s 0.6 assists per game more than any of Embiid’s previous seasons, and 1.5 more than his average last year

  • It’s also the second-most of any center in the league this season, trailing only Jokic’s 7.0 APG

Trivia question: who has the most points in Sixers’ history? (answer below)

The Jay-Team

After five-straight winning seasons under Brad Seasons (plus a .500 finish last year), the Celtics have limped out to another .500 start. So far, Boston’s new coach Ime Udoka hasn’t been able to build a successful team around his homegrown star wings 📉

  • Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are each capable of taking over a game, but they’ve struggled to getting going on the same nights this year

  • Only twice this season have they both dropped 30+ pts, despite playing together 24 times and each averaging over 24 PPG

However in their last game, Brown went off for 34 pts, with Tatum also pouring in 33 of his own. The Celtics need to get hot soon, before it’s too late in the crowded East 🍀

For My Parlay Gurus

Despite the Sixers reeling from a loss and the Celtics riding high off of a road dub, I’m picking the Sixers to win at home. Here’s the parlay I’m rocking with 👇

  • Sixers -3 vs. the Celtics: -110

  • Under 212 total points: -110

$100 on this bet would payout $264, you’re welcome in advance. If it hits, make sure to email [email protected] for $100**. First come, first serve 😉

Trivia answer: Hal Greer, who played back in the 60s, has the most points in Sixers’ history with 21,586. Allen Iverson, Dolph Schayes, Julius Irving and Charles Barkley round out the rest of the top-5
