The Dodgers (+600) Have The Best World Series Odds, Despite MLB Drama
The baseball season is in jeopardy, as the owners and players have yet to come to a new collective bargaining agreement. But, that isn't stopping Vegas from slinging MLB futures 🧢 (3 minute read)
In the last seven seasons, the Jets (76) have lost more regular season games than Tom Brady (73) did in his entire career 😅 — let’s talk MLB futures 👇

Lockout Breakdown
In a normal season, MLB teams would be starting to prepare for Spring Training right about now. This season, however, everything’s on hold. The lockout between the players union and the league is entering its third month, and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight 🥶
If an agreement isn’t reached by next week, players will get a late start to their typical Spring Training routines
If no progress is made by February 19th, Spring Training games will likely be delayed
If there’s still a lockout on March 3rd, expect a late start to the MLB regular season (scheduled to begin on March 31st)
Check out a good article on the current state of the MLB from Jesse Rogers here
With “heated” meetings between players and owners making little progress, delays to Spring Training, at the bare minimum, seem likely. Complicating matters is the fact that a bunch of the game’s biggest free agents have yet to sign. There could be a flurry of moves as soon as the lockout ends ✍️
Here are the biggest names still on the board without a team for next season:

World Series Preview
While we have no sense of when this season will begin, that obviously isn’t stopping Vegas from slinging MLB futures. Let’s take a look at which teams are expected to dominate the season and hopefully end October on top 👇
Dodgers: +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
Astros: +900
White Sox, Yankees & Mets: +1100
Blue Jays: +1300
Braves & Rays: +1400
Brewers & Padres: +1600
The Dodgers and Astros lead the majors with the best odds to win a title, and each is obviously the favorite to win their respective league. Los Angeles is +320 to win the National League, ahead of the Mets (+500) and Braves/Padres/Brewers (+600). In the American League, Houston is favored at +425, ahead of the Yankees, White Sox and Blue Jays at +500
The reigning champion Braves have only the seventh-best odds to repeat (+1400), despite expecting the return of their best player, 24-year-old wunderkind Ronald Acuna Jr. after an ACL tear cost him the second half of his season

MVP Favorites
Baseball is unique, as the season ends with two MVPs — one from both the AL and NL. While traditional betting sites have released odds for team futures, we can’t seem to find anything legit for the MVP race. However, we did some digging and a few sites that require an approved account have the following lines 👇
American League MVP Odds
Vladimir Guerrero Jr: +300
Mike Trout: +350
Shohei Ohtani: +400
Bo Bichette & Corey Seager: +1600
Rafael Devers & Aaron Judge: +1800
In the NL, despite winning the award for the second time in his career last season, Bryce Harper trails two younger players and is tied with another, all without an MVP honor coming into the 2022 season 👇
National League MVP Odds
Juan Soto: +350
Fernando Tatis Jr: +400
Ronald Acuna Jr & Bryce Harper: +800
Mookie Betts: +1100
Freddie Freeman: +1300
