The Cowboys Have Covered Spread In All Five Games This Season
Through five weeks, Dallas has a top 3 run game, are top 10 in passing yards and lead the NFL in INTs đź‘€ (4 minute read)
Dallas Is Back
Through five weeks of football, the Cowboys are the only team in the NFL who have covered spread in each game
Week 1: +9 @ the Bucs → lost by 2
Week 2: +3 @ the Chargers → won by 3
Week 3: -3.5 vs the Eagles → won by 20
Week 4: -4.5 vs the Panthers → won by 8
Week 5: -7 vs the Giants → won by 24
While we all expected Dallas to contend, assuming Dak was healthy, it’s safe to say that the Cowboys are more dominant than anticipated. Entering Week 1 of the regular season, Dallas (4-1) had +2500 odds to win the Super Bowl. Take a look at the teams they were grouped with 👇
Week 1 Super Bowl Odds & Current Record
49ers: +1600, 2-3
Saints: +1800, 3-2
Seahawks: +2200, 2-3 record
Colts: +2500, 1-4
Dolphins: +2500, 1-4
Patriots: +3000, 2-3
Dallas’ Super Bowl odds have jumped up to +1400, earning them the 8th-best odds in the league. While that’s respectful and potentially where they belong considering the teams they’ve played, there’s clearly still room to grow from Vegas’ POV
The Run Game
Dallas has dominated on the ground behind their elite offensive line, and only two teams have attempted more rushes than the Cowboys
Browns: 175 attempts, 938 yards, 12 TDs
Cowboys: 163 attempts, 864 yards, 6 TDs
Titans: 172 attempts, 839 yards, 8 TDs
While the Browns have a two-headed backfield with Chubb and Hunt, the Cowboys have a more underrated duo that features two RBs in the top 10 in rushing yards
No. 3: Ezekiel Elliot, 452 yards
No. 10: Tony Pollard, 325 yards
Then, on top of all these pretty stats, is the pass game. To keep it short and sweet, Dallas ranks in the top 10 in total passing yards, while the other two teams above (with similar rushing stats) are both in the bottom 10

The Defense Featuring Diggs
Statistically, the Cowboys’ defense is relatively average. But when you’re a bottom 10 defense in 2020, any improvement is appreciated
Through five games, Dallas has allowed the second most passing yards. However, that stat is a tad skewed considering they’ve scored the most TDs in the league. Teams are usually trailing and required to pass the ball. With all that in mind, take a look at the NFL’s INT Leaders
Cowboys: 10 INTs
Saints: 9 INTs
Bills: 9 INTs
Trevon Diggs: 6 INTs
Bucs: 6 INTs
Texans: 6 INTs
Trevon Diggs, a former WR that Nick Saban converted to a CB, has been absolutely electric and an integral part in the improvement of the Dallas defense. He has 9 INTs in his last 10 games…
For My Parlay Gurus
It’s been a Dallas newsletter, so we’re going with the “Dallas better back me up” parlay. The Patriots just barely beat Davis Mills and the Texans last week, so I’m confident this one hits
Dallas -3.5 @ New England: -110
Dak Prescott over 274.5 passing yards: -114
Ezekiel Elliot over 79.5 rushing yards: -115
$100 on these three lines wins you $570. I’ve seen better parlay odds, but this would be enough to finally get that cowboy hat I’ve been gunning for đź¤
