🏈 NFL Conference Championships

And Then There Were Four

With the Super Bowl firmly in sight, we’ve now reached the stage of the NFL playoffs where legends are made. We’ve seen from the careers of otherwise middling quarterbacks, yes you Eli Manning and Joe Flacco, that even one momentous championship run can define a player forever and etch their name into NFL lore 🏆

  • Two unlikely names in Brock Purdy and Jared Goff will face off in the NFC championship, both with a chance to build their legend

  • In the AFC Championship, it’s a battle of likely the league’s two best quarterbacks in Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes

  • Mahomes is the one with a couple Super Bowl rings under his belt, and Lamar knows exactly what it will take to hoist the crown 👑

At this point in his career, Lamar has accomplished everything except for winning it all. He’ll soon be rewarded with his second MVP, matching Mahomes’ total, but his rival is lapping the field in playoff success. In his absolute athletic prime and equipped with a superior roster around him, this is Lamar’s best chance to throw his name in the ring with Mahomes for the best QB of his generation 👀

  • Of course, there’s no way to count out this Chiefs team — KC is developing a level of playoff mystique rivaling the Brady-Belichick Pats

  • After breaking Buffalo’s heart last weekend, Mahomes and co. are reveling in their road villain role this postseason. Whatever the outcome, it’s always electric when these two future Hall-of-Famers match up 🍿

  • Spread: Ravens -4.5

  • Moneyline: Ravens -220, Chiefs +184

  • Over/Under: 44.5

  • When: 3PM EST on CBS

For what it’s worth, I’d recommend factoring this into your betting decision. Thuney has been a Pro-Bowler these past two season 👇

The NFC title game showcases an entirely different narrative, which sports fans know all too well: No one believes in us. No one thought that the last pick in the draft would become San Francisco’s starting QB and lead them to two straight NFC championship games in his first two years. No one believed that Jared Goff could lead a historically cursed Lions team back to the playoffs after being cast aside by the Rams 🔥

  • On a deeper level, no Detroit fan has tasted Super Bowl glory — they haven’t even reached this stage since 1991

  • The Lions will be up against the odds facing this juggernaut Niners team, with Purdy leading a ridiculously stacked offensive unit

  • However, Goff’s hilarious exchange with the press showcased why the national audience may be undervaluing Detroit 😂

  • Spread: 49ers -7.5

  • Moneyline: 49ers -355, Lions +285

  • Over/Under: 51.5

  • When: 6:30PM EST on FOX

Trivia Question: Which of these four teams has the most Super Bowl wins?

For My Parlay Gurus

Despite their postseason magic, Baltimore has looked significantly better than KC all season. This one won’t be easy, but the Ravens’ defense is a different beast from the depleted Buffalo unit. Out West, I don’t see the Lions coming this far and going down easy. Look for a shootout, with Detroit keeping it close and maybe even reaching their first Super Bowl 👀

  • Ravens -4.5 vs. Chiefs: -105

  • Lions +7.5 @ Niners: -120
