The Basketball Tournament is back today, as the Syracuse and Wichita Regionals kick-off. This is a 64 team, single-elimination tourney with a winner-take-all $1M prize 💰

  • Our very own Team Overtime played in their first TBT game last Saturday on ESPN2, losing to the Omaha Blue Crew (Creighton alumni team), 74-70

  • Our squad was the first team to compete with NBA Draft-eligible prospects, including projected 2023 top-5 picks Amen and Ausar Thompson

  • The Thompson Twins combined for 18 pts, and Amen went viral for this ridiculous dunk 😤

A Boeheim On Boeheim's Army

One of the most well-known TBT teams is Boeheim's Army, which is made up of mostly Syracuse alumni. It took seven years, but they finally broke through and won their first title in 2021 🏆

  • Keifer Sykes drilled a deep three to hit the target score in a 69-67 win over Team 23, securing that $1M bag

  • Moments after his game-winner, Sykes signed a deal with the Indiana Pacers...what a memorable night 🙏

It's a new year, but Boeheim's Army has reloaded for a run at back-to-back titles, adding Syracuse alums Tyler Ennis, Rakeem Christmas and Marek Dolezaj. That's not all, Jimmy Boeheim will be joining the squad — the first actual "Boeheim" to wear a Boeheim's Army jersey 😏

  • Jimmy played for the Detroit Pistons in NBA Summer League with his brother Buddy, who just signed a two-way contract

  • Last season, Jimmy averaged 13.7 PPG and shot 38% from three for the Orange 🔥

Although the face of Boeheim's Army Eric Devendorf is no longer a player, he's an assistant coach this year. This team will start its title defense tonight at 7PM EST on ESPN against India Rising, a squad made up of Indian-origin players competing in their first ever TBT game. This matchup is lopsided on paper, and for good reason, as Boeheim's Army has a 21-6 all-time record at TBT 🍊
