The Bucs' Defense Has Allowed The Most Passing Yards In The NFL
Jalen Hurts has an opportunity to prove that he’s more than just a runner vs the worst statistic secondary in the league 👀 (4 minute read)
Thursday Night Football Preview
The Eagles (2-3) will host the Super Bowl champion Bucs (4-1) on Thursday Night Football. Both teams are coming off Week 5 wins, but the Eagles are looking for their first victory at Lincoln Financial Field
Game Preview:
Spread: Bucs -7
Moneyline: Bucs -300 (bet $300, win $100), Eagles +240
Over/Under: 52.5
Jalen Hurts, who was just two years old when Tom Brady was drafted in 2000, will get an opportunity to face the GOAT in primetime. Hurts is phenomenal at running the ball, but he’s struggled as a passer
Jalen Hurts’ Prop Bet
Tampa Bay’s defense has been awful this season, especially their secondary. They’ve given up over 1,570 passing yards in just five games, the worst in the NFL 🤮
Defensive Stats:
Allow 24.4 PPG (T-19th in NFL)
Allow 314.4 passing Y/G (32nd in NFL)
Allow 2.6 passing TD/G (30th in NFL)
Hurts’ best passing game this season came in a Week 1 win over the Falcons, where he completed 77.1% of his passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. The Bucs’ secondary should be an equally weak matchup, take a look at the passing yards prop for Hurts tonight
Over 279.5: -111
Under 279.5: -118
Hurts has thrown for over 279 yards in two of his last three games, but only had 198 yards last week. The Eagles’ offense has been extremely inconsistent under coach Nick Sirianni, but I’m taking the over here and trusting Hurts will expose the weaknesses of the Bucs’ defense
DeVonta Smith’s Prop Bet
If Hurts is going to sling it tonight, it’s gotta go to someone, right? How about the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner 🏆
Yes: +150
The Bucs’ secondary has allowed 1.4 touchdowns and an average of 204 yards per game to wide receivers. The Smith-to-Hurts connection has proven to be one of the BEST on this Eagles team, with Smith playing 90% of snaps and averaging 7.8 targets per game. Even though DeVonta hasn’t caught a TD pass since Week 1, I think that will change tonight
For My Parlay Gurus
In PRIMETIME, against the 4-1 BUCS, at home in PHILLY…Jalen Hurts has a huge opportunity to prove that he’s worthy of the “dual-threat” quarterback label. So, this is my ALL Alabama alumni parlay
Jalen Hurts Over 279.5 Passing Yards: -111
DeVonta Smith To Score A TD: +150
Eagles +7: -120
Throwing down $100 on this parlay would result in a $771 payout. Since this bet has Alabama DNA all over it, you better believe I’m snagging a Hurts Alabama jersey if this hits…shoutout to YOU Nick Saban 🐘
