🏈 Joe Burrow vs Lamar Jackson
Weird NFL season - a lot of ups and downs, even for the elite teams. The Bengals lost to the Texans last week, and the Ravens blew a big lead vs. the Browns. AFC North games are always tight, and both teams really need this win to keep their seasons on track. Who do you like? 😈 (2 min read)
AFC North Showdown
One of the bigger storylines this year has been the up and down QB play across the league. No one has been consistently elite (Stroud?), and for every monster drive, there will be a handful of befuddling plays like this. That interception wasn’t totally Josh Allen’s fault, but the point is there has been a wild card element to this year’s set of gunslingers. Tonight’s edition of TNF pits two of the best in the business against each other, as the Ravens play host to the Bengals, who really need a win. Here’s a throwback to a previous era of the AFC North 👇
Bengals week so gotta bring back Steve Smith Sr. Signature Raven Moment…

Imagine if Lamar had a Steve Smith type talent running routes for him right now, with all due respect to Zay Flowers and twilight era OBJ. Then again, maybe Flowers will make me eat my words — he does get more separation than anyone else in the league — and he’s going against a Bengals secondary that has given up the most yardage (317 YPG) to WRs over the last three weeks. Right now Flowers’ receiving O/U is set at 51.5 yards 👀
Zay Flowers is borderline impossible to tackle 1 on 1 in the open field… ridiculous.

Personally, I’m less concerned about Lamar and co. - the Ravens defense is formidable despite last week’s debacle. Keep in mind Deshaun Watson was running for his life for most of the game, so maybe that was a great win for the Browns rather than a terrible Ravens’ loss? Let’s call it a combination of both. Check out Baltimore’s metrics prior to last Sunday 👇
First in points allowed per game (13.8)
First in offensive TDs allowed (9)
First in sacks (35)
Still, last week’s loss did a number on Baltimore in terms of separation in the division, but I expect a bounce back night, even if they have to contend with Ja’Marr Chase and the rest of Cincinnati's weapons…minus Tee Higgins 🥺
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a defense look more demoralized after a play than the Ravens defense looked right here.

Both teams have weapons and some of the best QBs in the league, so I expect this one to be a shootout. Most AFC North games are defensive battles, but I like over 46 tonight. Lamar at home with fans like this, there’s gotta be some points 🙏
Fan made a carpet for Lamar Jackson 💯

Trivia Question: What Heisman winner had the most total yards in their award-winning season?
For My Parlay Gurus
Parlays are a lot like life — keeping things simple leads to a lot less heartache. So, I’m taking the Ravens to win outright, something that I still feel reasonably confident about despite the ugly loss to Cleveland last week. The game is in Baltimore, Lamar is completing 70% of his passes and the Keaton Mitchell + Gus Edwards RB core is a force. Considering Mitchell is one of the fastest backs in the league, I like him as an anytime TD scorer as well. Check it out 👇
Ravens ML vs. Bengals: -180
Keaton Mitchell Anytime TD scorer: +260
